Description : This is probably the best known African tree and one of the longest lived and largest tree in
the world ( it is a tree with heights ranging from 20 to 25 m and diameters of 5 m and over). It features an
irregular and short trunk.

Fruits : the fruits are oblong and ovoid capsules containing a whitish pulp housing numerous grains.

Uses:  The pulp is diluted in water or milk to make a refreshing drink that is sour and rich in vitamins C
and B1 as well as in calcium.

Many enthusiasts grow adansonia digitata in pots like a banzai tree.

Germination: Easily grown from seed. First of all, immerse the seeds in hot water for 2-6 hours. Cover the
seeds with sand to a depth of 4-6 mm, place the trays in a warm semi-shaded position and water regularly
until the seeds have all germinated.
